Sermon outline
As the deer pants…
1/ Emptiness and God’s people
2/ Believing in God when you’re feeling empty
When experience assumes precedence over creed, we don’t feel much like worshipping. Walking by sight is always deleterious to walking by faith. The Psalms direct us to factor God into current situations; true religion is always relevant to life. It is good in worship to dwell on God’s faithfulness and the sensibility of trusting Him regardless. Praising God tends to put everything else in proper perspective, even life. – Michael Barrett, “The Beauty of Holiness,” 2006.
3/ Being Filled by God
